How do I know if I am eligible to receive care?

Check our community resources page! We often recommend Albany Community Health Clinic in Laramie, Wyoming. They offer a sliding scale fee for medical services.

What are my rights as a client?

As a client of the DTC, your rights include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Considerate and respectful care

  • Personal privacy and security, as well as confidentiality of information to the extent provided by law

  • Professional care for minor acute, non-emergency conditions

  • Professional care for chronic, non-acute conditions

  • Participation in your plan of care

  • Access to information necessary to make treatment decisions

  • Obtain complete and current information concerning your diagnosis and treatment

  • Access the information contained in your clinic record to the extent provided by law

  • Referrals to other appropriate health, medical, and social services, and assistance with completing any needed forms

  • Advance knowledge of any services that will not be free of charge

  • Address any grievances regarding your care at the DTC to clinic staff or to the Clinic Operations Committee of the Board of Directors

What are my responsibilities as a client?

Provide complete and accurate medical and social histories and financial disclosure

  • Respect the rights of other Downtown Clinic clients and personnel

  • Respect the Downtown Clinic’s property

  • Attend the DTC free of the influence of drugs and intoxicants (Clients will be refused DTC services while under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.)

  • Assume financial responsibility for services that fall outside of clinic operations (The clinic may help you try to access financial resources.

  • Follow your treatment plan, which may include:

    1. Taking your medications as prescribed and refilling them in a timely manner

    2. Having lab work done as determined by DTC providers

    3. Scheduling follow-up appointments as determined by DTC providers

What is your no-show policy?

  • Call to cancel at least 4 hours before your appointment for in-house appointments

  • Speciality appointments require a minimum for 24 hours notice.

  • If you are calling outside of clinical hours and unable to make your appointment, please leave a voicemail

What do I do in case of emergencies?

  • In case of medical emergencies or if you are indeed of immediate attention: Call 911

  • In case of mental health or safety emergencies: Call (307) 745 3556 for a confidential 24-hour hotline by Safe Project

How can I schedule an appointment?

  • Current Clients: Call us to schedule an appointment today!

  • Potential Clients: Call us! We will go through the eligibility requirements with you and schedule an initial intake appointment if you are eligible.

    If you are calling outside of business hours, leave a message with your name and number. We will get back to you during business hours.

When can I pick up my medication?

  • Same-week medication refills should be requested by Tuesday 12:00 PM to be received during medication pick-up Thursdays 5:00 pm - 6:00 PM.

  • If you have already refilled your medication and have not picked it up the previous week, you can pick it up anytime during business hours.

  • Call during business hours to check on the status of your medication.

Do you provide travel vaccinations?

Do you provide dental services?

  • We do not provide in-house dental services

  • If you need immediate or emergency dental services, we suggest HealthWorks in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They offer sliding scale fees.

  • We provide limited dental referrals to outside entities to established clients receiving primary care. This is based on availability of grant funding

How much do services cost?

  • Downtown Clinic in-house services are free to individuals who qualify.

  • Proof of Income OR a Self-declared income statement is required at the first appointment

If I have Medicaid that does not cover dental or vision can I gain services?

  • No. We do not provide services to individuals with insurance of any kind including Medicaid, Medicare, and VA insurance or medical benefits.

  • We highly recommend HealthWorks in Cheyenne for sliding scale dental care and Snowy Range Vision for Vision

I have an appointment outside of clinical hours, what should I do?

  • Ring the doorbell, if your appointment is at the Downtown Clinic. A staff member will greet you.

  • If you need to cancel, please follow our cancellation policy, calling us or leaving a voicemail 4 hours in advance.

Do you have walk-in appointments available?

For Volunteers

What are the vaccination requirements for volunteers?

We require all volunteers, interns, and staff members to have:

  • PPD date and results (or IGRA) 

  • Hepatitis B vaccination and/or serologic testing date

  • Influenza vaccination (required annually)

  • Varicella vaccination (HCP documentation of clinical disease date/serologic testing)

  • Tdap vaccination

  • Measles, Mumps & Rubella vaccination (HCP documentation of clinical disease date/serologic testing)

  • COVID-19 vaccination (recommended not required)

How often do I need to volunteer?

  • We hope volunteers will be at the clinic at least once a month, for a minimum of three months.

Do I need a CNA/EMT certification or higher to do intake?

  • Yes. Due to liability coverage, we need certified CNA, EMT, or RN volunteers. Other on-site or in-house training, including Medical Assistant certification, do not qualify for this role.

I would like to volunteer my professional services or time to the DTC. How can I get involved?

  • Fill out our volunteer application OR send us an email. We would be happy to speak to you. We believe everyone is valuable and everyone can help.

  • Individuals looking to provide care must have a current license in their field.
